NEW DAWN

- Adithya Thite

Every time the sun shines, I feel alive,

Vigor runs through my spine,

Every morning at nine,

My fingers, with nature, intertwine,

I let out a sigh of relief, a ray of belief,

I worship nature as well as trees,

Rain down our pale skins turns green,

I wish the rain could eternally dance and never sleep,

The smell of earth after the rain passes by never ceases to amaze,

Slow-burning furnaces that are as sublime as nature’s gaze,

Autumn leaves frolicking within their maze,

I always feel a rush of passion and as I participate in nature’s race,

Every time the sun sets, the chilly swift of wind hums like bees,

"Do you wait for my cool breeze?"

"Or do you hail down and worship me like God on your knees?",

I lay down on gritty banks gliding over the horizon as time freezes,

I lie inside my bedsheets, staring outside my window at the moonlight,

With the coffee resonating in the sky with no light,

My heart transported into a cafe in 1888 swift as a kite,

Noises of crickets tucking me into a deep night sleep with all their might.

Every time the sun shines, I feel alive,

Vigor runs through my spine,

Every morning at nine,

My fingers, with nature, intertwine,

I let out a sigh of relief, a ray of belief,

I worship nature as well as trees,

Rain down our pale skins turns green,

I wish the rain could eternally dance and never sleep,

The smell of earth after the rain passes by never ceases to amaze,

Slow-burning furnaces that are as sublime as nature’s gaze,

Autumn leaves frolicking within their maze,

I always feel a rush of passion and as I participate in nature’s race,

Poet's INSIGHT

As residents of mother earth, we often take everything for granted which serves to be disdainful. There comes a point in life where one looks around their surroundings to notice that one facet of life cannot be materialized and that is nature. The Poem takes place of a vagabond who journey’s across the mystical lands of earth and admires nature as their own. The poem showcases the various emotions of nature that can release a person from the shackles of their mind. It speaks about the positive effect of nature on an individual’s behavior through a journey from dawn to dusk.

There are various metaphors for the various climates and weathers that coexist with each other during a 24-hour cycle. The poem signifies the beauty of nature through sunrise, day, sunset, night, and the various moods that carry on throughout. It speaks about symmetry with art and nature as coexisting together on the same artistic playground. This poem, New Dawn, showcases relativity and connectivity with nature as one of mother earth’s greatest characteristics.
